Storytime- Why is physics everywhere?!

Imagine preparing for your kathak exam, and then 6 months later, seeing the same concepts in your physics textbook. That's me in ninth grade. We had just been introduced to the chapter on sound and I was skimming through the textbook when I realised I knew the entire thing- just in Hindi. I had studied it all- amplitude, frequency and timber, as part of the syllabus for the Kathak exam. You see, Kathak is not movement in isolation, the sounds that accompany it are equally important. That's why after seeking the guru's blessing, we seek the tabla's. To understand the fundamentals of sound, are hence, as important as learning the bols themselves. And its not only physics; math, history, biology- I learn as much about these subjects in Kathak class as I do in school. Stay tuned for more on that.
