Leaving your problems at the door

For many people, dance is an escape. It removes you from the rest of your responsibilities and realities. For others, its therapy, a solution. But a lot of times, you need to make the conscious choice to leave your problems at the door. As a dancer, you need to choose to leave the rest of your life behind when you enter your classroom. Whatever else in on your mind, schoolwork or that fight you had with your mom, if it occupies your mental space when you're dancing, it shows in your performance. That's the reality. Sometimes, your problems don't disappear when you tie your ghungroo, you need to actively force them out of your mind.

(Join me on my journey as a dancer- as I share the aesthetic and the unaesthetic. Follow along for more.)
