the challenges- and overcoming them

This Varshik Utsav was challenging, if not anything else. The choreography-elite, speed- cutthroat and downtime- unheard of. It was one of those pieces in which you need to give your full energy the entire piece and after almost a year's break, coming back to something so intense was hard. Not only that but other major events coincided with rehearsals, which meant I wasn't even present in class many of the times. When stamina is low, it's scary, you don't know how you will make it through the dance. You don't give your best in the moment, saving energy for later. You submit. The hardest part is overcoming that. It's not letting your exhaustion show, making it look effortless throughout- that's what brings grace and power to your dance. This is no easy feat, and something I'm still working on, but this show taught me how pushing out of your comfort zone is the most important thing for growth. The body gives up halfway through the piece, after that- pure willpower. I guess this is our reminder of the power we hold.
